Introduction

The W5100 is a versatile, single-chip network interface chip with an integrated 10/100 Ethernet controller for high-integration, high-stability, high-performance, and low-cost embedded systems. With the W5100, you can achieve an Internet connection without an operating system. The W5100 is compatible with IEEE802.3 10BASE-T and 802.3u 100BASE-TX. The W5100 integrates a fully hardware-based, market-proven TCP/IP stack, Ethernet media transport layer ( MAC ), and physical layer ( PHY ). Using the W5100 does not require Ethernet control, just a simple Socket programming.

• A variety of interfaces can be selected: direct bus, indirect bus, and SPI bus;
• Support hardware TCP/IP protocol stack, support TCP, UDP, ICMP, IGMP, IPv4, ARP, PPPoE.
• Up to 4 independent ports;
• Internal integration of 16KBYTE transceiver;
• A variety of information indicator output, including RX, TX, Full/Duplex, Collision, Link, Speed;
• Support for automatic polarity switching ( DMI/MDIX );
